Chona E, the stage persona of San Antonio native Joanna Estrada, is a comedic force of nature redefining the "señora era." A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and Los Angeles, she seamlessly blends her formal acting background with a raw, "South Sider" authenticity. Chona E skyrocketed to national attention in 2018 with a viral musical parody of Cardi B’s “I Like It,” and has since been recognized by Fuse TV as one of the "Top Latina Comedians to Watch." Breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry, she made history in 2024 as the first Latina comedian to host the Tejano Music Awards.
